James Philip Curtis has been involved in various phases of the process of "multimedia" since 1978, upon his graduation with honors from the
Radio-TV-Film Division of North Texas State University. His experience has included job categories such as: editor, director,
cinematographer and producer. He has spent the last six years specializing in the area of post-production, and has been incorporating
his newest passion, motion graphics, into that discipline. Additionally, his hobby of music composition has brought him additional
experience in the field of sound recording, mixing and mastering.
Jim has experienced the transitions between the various media, starting
with film, then incorporating videotape technology, and now the new digital media, including High Definition Television.
In his career, Jim has worked on many different types of productions including feature
films, documentaries, TV commercials, corporate productions, home video, kiosks, meeting support, CD-ROM, satellite broadcasts and motion
graphics.
Jim has had various staff positions, including that of staff Producer-Director-Editor at Bill Stokes Associates and Image
Matrix/IMX Pictures. He’s also held staff jobs at Avid Technology, the company
behind the de-facto standard editing system in professional use today, Avid Media Composer; and he also did a hitch as Post-Production
Supervisor at the Dallas office of the world’s largest advertising conglomerate, Omnicom/DDB Needham.
He has kept busy freelancing as a specialist in the area of digital post-production since 1996.
